Meet your Physiotherapist

SUSAN FERREIRA

After completing a BSc. Physiotherapy Degree in 2015 at the University of the Free State, I started working in private practice in 2017, in the Cape Winelands. I completed SPT1 in 2019 and have done several courses
in the field of Women’s Health.

At the end of 2021 I opened my own practice on Highlands Farm between the citrus orchards in the beautiful town of Patensie, in the Eastern Cape.

Our bodies’ ability to walk, run, swim, cycle, stretch… and how all our muscles and body systems work together to accomplish this, amazes me! As a keen runner and tennis player I value the role of movement and physical activity on our overall health.

Have a few questions?

HERE ARE A FEW FAQ'S

Do you need a doctor’s referral to be treated by a physiotherapist?

No, you do not need to be referred by a doctor to see a physiotherapist.

What to wear to your physio session?

Comfortable, loose clothing that easily expose and allow access to your area of pain and allows movement. Shorts are available at the practice.

What is the role of a Physiotherapist?

“Physiotherapy improves your physical condition by restoring normal body functions and prevents disability that may arise from disease, trauma or injury. Your physiotherapist has a thorough understanding of how the body works gained from many years of rigorous academic study and practical experience. Physiotherapy encompasses posture, balance and movement, knowledge of diseases, injury and the healing process.”

-SASP-

Will I need more than one treatment session?

Not always, but mostly yes.
